Background:
Sewa Week is now established in the Redbridge calendar of events. This event originated in Redbridge in 2001 and has been running since. It is now celebrated in various centres nationally. Sewa Week increases by the year.
Sewa means "to give" in Hindi. It is a time of the year that we remember the less fortunate and help in aid-food, cloths, money or in kind. It is a time when we reflect on how we can make Redbridge a better place to live and the residents more empowered and connected.
Sewa week is backed by charity called Sewa International (charity no.267309).
